It’s all about bold prints these days, isn’t it? These are two floral (ish) prints that I can’t stop thinking about at the moment. The first is a blush floral and bird print by Hermione de Paula and the second is the ‘day garden’ print by Stolen Girlfriend’s Club.
So the weather is cooling down and the mornings and evenings are getting chilly, but I still refuse to wear tights. I’m too busy grasping at whatever warm weather we have left (which, when it reaches about 10am, is quite a lot actually). I’m also grasping at getting as much wear out of this skirt as I can before it inevitably falls to pieces. It’s starting to look a bit worse for wear. Sad face. What AREN’T looking worse for wear are these Ash ankle boots that I scored from my-wardrobe.com. Happy face. I still like to wear them with nearly everything. Usually I find it hard to pair midi length skirts with ankle boots for fear of making my legs look stumpy, but these boots are perfect. I think it has to do with the dippy bit at the front. Yes, dippy bit. Check out my grasp of the English language yo.
I would have posted about these sooner but I accidentally deleted a bunch of photos off my camera. So I had to do a re-enactment of sorts. As previously mentioned, I recently received a generous gift from my-wardrobe.com. When asked to pick an item of my choice, I couldn’t help but waver between something a bit out of character (see: Ray-Ban black and crystal wayfarers), or something more practical. In the end, practicality won out. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect ankle boots for the past couple of winters and when I saw these ones on the website I knew I had to have them. While there was a tonne of lovely new spring/summer stock on the website, I knew these Ash ‘Jalouse’ ankle boots would be perfect for autumn/winter here in Australia. They came within 3 days, which is quite impressive since they were shipped all the way from the UK. I wore them out over the weekend and can easily say that they are one of the comfiest pairs of shoes that I own. They go with pretty much everything and I predict that they’ll be getting lots of wear over the coming months. I guess being practical has its upsides, after all.
This lovely parcel came in the mail last week – a little gift from my-wardrobe.com. What could possibly be inside? I’ll reveal that shortly. In the mean time, I’ll keep you guessing. I also received a physical copy of the Style Guide that I mentioned a few posts ago. Because I’m one of those people who believes that books > e-books, I much prefer this version of the Style Guide. Plus, unlike the online version, there’s no temptation to just ‘click through’ and purchase an item!
