travel photos: appartements napoléon III

While the Louvre hosts a great number of artworks, my favourite part of the museum would have to be the Napoleon III Apartments. Lots of chandeliers and shiny things – I was in my element! While I was left feeling underwhelmed by the Mona Lisa, the Apartments blew me away. Talk about decadent. The girls I was in Paris with missed this part of the Louvre on their visit. DO NOT REPEAT THEIR MISTAKE.

Oh my wow! I didn't go to the Louvre when I was last in Paris – big mistake seeing as I was only a little one when we originally went, so I barely remember this place! So gorgeous.

Oh my God, die, die, die!
You can just imagine the people of Napoleon's court swishing their way around there having opulent dinners… swinging from the chandeliers after drinking too much Champagne… sigh… perhaps not the latter.

    It looks amazing, so decadent.

This is regal at it's finest! Although I'm not exactly a fan of elaborate items, should be interesting to see how it is to live luxuriously during those times

Gorgeous. I'm sad I missed it. I did see the foundation of the original castle though which was cool. Next time I go I'll remember to put the Napoleon Apartments on my list of must-see's!
