shock tactics

Top: Country Road | Skirt: DIY
Ta da! New skirt! That came at a total cost of $1.50. Does it get any better than that? Don’t be fooled though, most of the credit should go to my mum on this one. After cutting and joining the all the pieces of material together, I became stumped on how to join the material/lining/elastic together AND get the right kind of shaped skirt. All while dealing with excruciatingly slippery material (I had enough trouble trying to cut straight, I doubt I would have been able to sew in straight lines). Feeling quite inept, I took it to mum. Needless to say, she is much more talented than I when it comes to these things and kindly obliged to help me out (thanks mum). Anyway, this is my take on the whole orange/blush combination look, a la Lover. I really like how the orange adds a shock of colour to the outfit and offsets the mass pastel-ness of the skirt. Even if I do end up looking like a giant sherbet lollipop.

oh well done on the skirt! it looks great – aren't mums the best?!! surprisingly enough my dad is a better sewer than my mum, so i'd probably gone to him to save the day! hehe the tangerine colour certainly pops

not too sure whether you or I misread, but the store is located in Bondi Junction Westfields.
