soon she’ll be there

Lilya. Winter 2010. “Soon She’ll Be There”.

Hello, I’d like you to meet Lilya. Lilya is another boutique Australian label that is fast making a name for itself. My brain isn’t quite working right now, so I pinched the description for their Winter 2010 collection from their website. I hope they don’t mind. Plus, who better to describe the collection than the people who created it, right?

“Winter 2010 sees an earthy blend of blush and cream punctuated with tangerine, navy and black. Referencing a laid-back, bohemian style with soft tie-dyes and vintage-style liberty floral prints, the collection is grounded with preppy checks and bold stripe knits.”

The touches of tangerine are quite refreshing, I think. To me, the tangerine accents (I would call it burnt orange) add the bohemian/70s/folky touch more than anything else. The draped jackets look quite interesting too.

I love the two little jackets in the bottom row, they look really good for Brisbane weather 🙂

  2. Lulu March 23, 2010

that stripey dress…and that short orange dress…i love!!!! so wonderful!

  3. Mez March 24, 2010

I love the burnt orange, it's fast becoming a hot color for winter me thinks.

This collection looks very trans-seasonal, perfect for Melbourne weather: layers and layers from hot to cold.

It's interesting how you're thinking of winter dressing now when all I can think about is shedding my puffy winter coat!

That being said, I think the floral skirt would work beautifully for both summer and winter, yes?

first row of girls are stunning, I love the flow in the dress and the uncovered shoulders (:

@Lola: Yes, definitely perfect for Bris weather. I think the black one is linen too. So perfect for layering without getting crazy hot!

@Lulu: The stripey maxi dress is very 70s to me. It looks so comfy too.

@Mez: I think so too. It's a nice way to brighten up an outfit, and sits well against all the black and grey.

@Marie: Don't forget that we're headed into Winter in Australia. But most of these pieces seem transeasonal to me, and I'm sure a lot of pieces would work in Summer as well.

@Michelle: I'm quite fond of that dress too.

@JessicaDruck: Glad you like it 🙂

    @danica: Thanks!
