travel photos: wimbledon

When I booked my flight to London I had no idea that I’d be coming at such an opportune time. The Monday after I arrived was the first day of Wimbledon. My friend Bron lives only a short walk away from the tennis courts so it was definitely on our to-do list. We started queueing at about 8.30am and managed to get into the courts by 11am. The two hours of queuing passed fairly quickly thanks to some morning coffees, snacks, and a year’s worth of catch up chat. In the first photo you’ll notice that we got given a queue card – they take their queuing very seriously in England (lol). It was a nice day out and quite a novelty to be somewhere that I had only ever seen on television. We managed to spot Novak Djokovic on the grounds, and even made it to centre court to see the Andy Murray match (thanks to MORE queuing at the ticket resale point). But the definite highlight of my day was something that happened while we were queuing for resale tickets. Brace yourselves, because… I SAW NOEL FIELDING AND HE WAS WEARING GOLD SHOES AND IT WAS AMAZING. If you don’t know who Noel Fielding is, google The Mighty Boosh and educate yourselves. Then we can talk.

If you don’t know, he is the one in the tartan jacket. I’m kind of bummed I didn’t get photos of his gold shoes. They were Amazing.
