Pinterest Moodboard: Shades Of Pink

It’s weird. I wouldn’t identify pink as being a favourite colour of mine, but I seem to gravitate towards it a lot. These recently pinned images from my Pinterest account are proof of that.

Decorate: Pastel Spaces

I’ve been on a bit of a homewares/interiors kick lately. So much so that I’ve been opting for interior design magazines over the fashion variety. Add to that the seemingly never ending content on Pinterest and you’ve got yourself a verifiable obsession in in the making. I’ve been loving all things pastel sick at the moment so it’s no surprise that it’s a trend that has translated over into my design inspirations. While I’m not sure I could deal being surrounded by floor to ceiling pastels in my home, I do like the idea of subtle pastel touches here and there to soften up a space.

inspiration: all the colours

Has it really been almost two weeks since my last blog post? Whoops. Whenever I seem to be losing my blogging mojo or am lacking in creativity, nothing gets the creative juices flowing again quite like a quick scroll through Pinterest. And by “quick scroll” I mean “getting sucked into a never ending wormhole of outfit inspiration, interiors shots, DIY ideas, and recipes that I’ll bookmark and will likely never make”. This is just an example of what I’ve been pinning, liking, and generally drawing inspiration from lately.

2. Paintings by Yolanda Sanchez.

gatsby? what gatsby?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they’ve been waiting forever for Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby to be released? We were teased with a trailer around this time last year, then it was slated for a December release, and then it got pushed back to May etc. Because I’m super impatient, the other day I watched the 1974 version of the film to sate my appetite for all things Gatsby related. While it stays true to the novel, I’ve always felt that something was amiss with this version of the film. Somewhere along the line that feeling you get when reading the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel was lost in the production. Plus there’s something about Mia Farrow’s performance as Daisy that I find grating. Thankfully though, the costume and set design is nothing short of brilliant.

mulberry ss13: behind the scenes

Fashion shows and campaigns seem to be becoming more and more of a spectacle. In a constant battle of one-upmanship between the big luxury houses, life sized trainscarousels, and palatial backdrops are almost a common feature on runways and campaign sets these days. Following the larger-than-life seaside ice-cream sculptures that featured in their SS12 campaign, Mulberry have moved the set of their SS13 campaign under the sea. With pastel hued corals and iridescent bubbles, model Meghan Collision shows off the latest Mulberry wares for spring. Although, with this fantastical set, it’s hard to focus on the clothes and accessories when the set is so mesmerising.
