dress up a/w 2011

Dress Up. Autumn/Winter 2011. ‘Wait a Moment’.

It’s hard to believe that we’re being greeted with next season’s lookbooks already. We’re only just entering summer! (sorry for the climate confusion, northern hemisphere folk). Although luckily in Australia, due to our lack of a ‘real’ winter (for the most part), many A/W collections have pieces that prove to be transeasonal. So while Dress Up‘s latest offerings may be with cooler temperatures in mind, I’ll be using it as inspiration for easy and cool summer dressing. Muted colours? Check. Faded florals? Check. Simple, slouchy, yet tailored looks? Check check check check check.

I love those pants in the top photo and also the shoes in the bottom photo. I wish Canberra didn't have a real winter were still having a pretty cold Spring.

@Megan: ooh a chilly spring is never good *wishing some sunshine your way*

@Enia: even coats are a distant, distant thought still! haha

@Amie: mine too. Every time I see the clothes in store I just can't help but paw at them.

Oh my that floral dress is brilliant. I've worn my fair share of floral dresses this season but because it's double breasted just gives it that extra edge.

My favorite is by far the last photo, cropped army green top. I am a sucker for army green + cropped tops.

Hmmmm, I like that dress with the 'jacket' type front. I have a jumpsuit like that which I converted to a dress, but I'm still not happy. I might head in the full skirt direction….
I would be happy if it never went over 25 degrees ๐Ÿ™

i love the button-up shirts… the angled, penguin-styled cut is the key to that "just tied-up-in-a-knot" look!

the slacks look super comfy too!

my first rule while dressing: comfort before anything!
