orange crush

Top: Country Road | Skirt: thrifted
I bought this skirt with the intention of shortening it (inspired somewhat by these Lover shorts). However, I’m now thinking of keeping it as is. There’s nothing worse than hacking away at something and then later realising you should have kept it in its original condition.

amen! I bought a top from an op shop the other day and hacked it up and hated it after. A little bittersweet – it only cost me $2 but I can't go back and buy another. This skirt is lovely x

I hack at things a lot, end up taking too much off, and then completely ruin whatever it was. I think this would look nice either way though. At least keeping it this length, you don't risk anything x

I like it this length. I think it's nice to see a skirts that aren't not either knee or mini length. It's a little more mature… in a good way. Like, a stylish way.
I forgot about school holiday at the shops today… way too much skin :/

@jess: that's exactly the problem. Cheap as chips, but you only get one chance to make it right!

@vicky: happens to me way too many times. If anything, I think I'll get a tonne of wear out of it like this and then maybe down the track I can always shorten it if I get bored.

@Sundari: Other than the colour, the shape is exactly what got me. I feel kind of Mad Men-ish when wearing it haha

@Hannah: True. I'm also loving longer skirts atm. Kids these days should take note haha.

I actually really like the current length. If it were me i probably wouldn't be able to get away with it as I am *too* short but from the photo I really like the length on you. Besides, calf length is very in this season!

I agree! Plus there are so many short skirts out there that its actually hard finding a really nice pencil skirt – especially vintage. If you love vintage I'd be glad if you found the time to visit my blog – if you like it (and I hope you will), feel free to comment and follow of course. Much Love, VLxo.
