Bottom: Sportsgirl nail polish in Fairy Floss, A Handful of Dust – Evelyn Waugh, Yen, Sportsgirl hat
What I wore and what I bought today. I went to my local suburban shopping centre purely with the intention of getting my Diana Mini film developed. I was told my film would be ready in half an hour. Half an hour to kill in a ginormous shopping complex? Easy.
I spent most of my time in Borders. It seems like they had just received a massive shipment of international magazines. I was very tempted to pick up The Gentlewoman, British Vogue and i-D. Pity they didn’t have Lula, because I would have snapped that up in a second. Seeing as I could have gone crazy buying magazines, I set myself a one mag limit. In the end I stayed local, and picked up a copy of Yen. I haven’t shown that magazine love in ages. Borders were also having a 20% off Penguin classics sale. Because I could have gone crazy buying those, I set myself a one book limit as well (does anyone else set themselves silly little rules when shopping?). I also picked up a hat from Sportsgirl (different to the one I’m wearing in the first photo), and pink nail polish. All on sale. Woo! I went into Mombasa after Sportsgirl and found a red floppy hat (remember when I was musing about buying one?), but decided that maybe buying two hats within ten minutes of each other would be a bit much. Anyway, I got my film back and I will scan them in later this weekend. All the ones from the Ron Mueck exhibition look really overexposed. I must have underestimated the brightness of the gallery lighting. Dang.
Also, I can’t stop listening to the Presets remix of Sarah Blasko’s Hold On My Heart. When I heard that the Presets had remixed Sarah Blasko, I was quite flummoxed. But then I heard it and loved it. You can download yourself a free mp3 from the Triple J website (here). But be quick because I think they update them pretty regularly and it might be unavailable soon.
