spot the difference

Witchery shirt, vintage belt, Cheap Monday jeans
Today I felt like being on trend and buttoning my shirt all the way up. Then I thought, what the hey, let’s take this masculine dressing thing a bit further and add a bow tie. After seeing Ally from The Vintage Valley rock the bow tie with aplomb just the other day, I was definitely inspired to give it a whirl. At first I was thinking of making a contraption like the ones used in the Kate Sylvester SS11 runway show, but couldn’t find suitable material. Instead I improvised with a piece of denim material. I had to tuck the ends back inside the shirt so it didn’t look messy. I think it worked out OK in the end. Coincidentally, tonight, I’m having dinner with the girls at a restaurant called… wait for it… BOW THAI. I kid you not. I won’t be wearing this out tonight though. I think the irony would be too much for me to handle (it’s also a Thai restaurant, in case you hadn’t picked up on that). Anyway, I better start getting ready. Happy Friday!

Bow tie! I'm going to the department store tomorrow to find a few in the children's section.

The denim bow tie is a great idea!! It looks so good with the red lipstick. How did it go down when you went to the restaurant? Did people realise?

The outfit is so neat and stylish. I really like how simply you styled it! 🙂

I prefer the more girly bows myself- the one with droopy tails and all. I just look so silly in normal bowties. You pull it off though!
