starting something, thought it could be fun

In an homage to Alberto Vargas, this editorial in UK Vogue offered up a modern interpretation of the Vargas Girl. And by modern I mean more glittery. Seriously, the eye make-up going on here is spectacular.

While I was putting together these collages, I was listening to Goldrapp’s latest single, Rocket. I thought that it was a most fitting soundtrack.

    Really cool collages and song! That's one of my favoriteeeeeee hobbies. This song made my mind think of the early 80's…where people played "Girls Just wanna have Fun' and "Suissdo" (love that song–even had it recorded where I played it daily). Fun post 🙂 Have a groovy day 🙂

    Reprise; where girls played tunes loudy and jumped around down the streets, in raggy cutesy fashions with plenty of braclets on their wrist and head bands lasting for days. Classic.

    This article is so striking! The sparkles take on a really super-woman, sexy yet naive look. I love it!
    This song is so catchy! I totally have it stuck in my head! I love the "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" part.

    I love this editorial. Best one in UK Vogue in a while in my opinion. I hope you don't mind me asking but how were you able to post a youtube video without the actual video? I've been trying to work out how to do that for ages!

    @TuesdaiNoelle: Yes, definitely brings to mind the 80s! Your description is perfect haha.

    @TheBambina: I love how this whole editorial could have been so ostentatious (glitter, sequins, all manner of frills and spills) but the overall look is fairly demure.

    @Sayablack: You're welcome.

    @Mez: Glad you enjoyed it 🙂

    @Highdee: Thanks.

    @Valerie: Agreed, Lucinda did a top job.

    @Christine: Doesn't it just make you want to pick up tubes of glitter and apply it to your eyes?

    @JunePaski: These definitely win out over Barbie dolls!

    @Hannah: Change the height settings to 25. I've posted better a reply on your page 🙂
