*I know that I am excluding a lot of readers who have never been to Splendour in the Grass (one, because they don’t live in Australia, and two BECAUSE TICKETS ARE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THESE DAYS), therefore have no idea what I am talking about. Basically, it’s a popular music festival held in a hippie enclave.
The very first outfit is what I would like to be wearing at this year’s Splendour in the Grass festival*. Ethnic print scarf plus lace sweater equals Splendour luxe hippie. I applaud anyone who can mix and match prints with aplomb. My goal this winter is to become one of those people. Yes, I don’t set many serious goals in life. This could be my downfall. Like yesterday’s post, I don’t like the shoes here either. But then again, I am not a fan of moccasin type footwear. But back to the clothes. Leather, ruffles, lace, plaid – this collection has it all, really. And not in a bad “there’s too much stuff here” kind of way. I quite like the “nomadic” element of this collection. It almost tells the story of the travels of the Arabella Ramsay girl (pashminas from India? Check. Moccasins from Morocco? Check). And it all comes together in a very cohesive, modern way. The blue ruffle dress owns my heart. And the plaid pieces would be perfect for playing farmer on visits to my uncle’s hobby farm. Bring on the cooler weather, because I can’t wait to start channeling my inner nomad.
