Shopping for a graduation dress yesterday proved to be a bit of a mixed bag. I didn’t find my ultimate graduation dress, but I did buy some other nice stuff (like a silk playsuit and awesome shoes). I went out to DFO because I was too lazy to trek it into town (I’m quite wary of public transport at the moment, what with strikes happening left, right and centre) and I refuse to go anywhere near big shopping centres/malls around this time of year (at peak times, anyway). Last time I ventured into one I got a shopping trolley slammed into the back of my ankles. Not fun.
I spent about three hours at DFO searching for a dress but there was nothing that really caught my attention. I did find a gorgeous pale pink dress in Cue, but didn’t buy it because I don’t like the idea of graduating in a pink dress. Don’t ask why. It’s just me being weird. And realistically, I wouldn’t have worn it much anyway. I did end up buying a dress though, but I’m not sure if I’ll wear it tomorrow. It’s a greyish/khaki colour and has gold buttons down the front and it’s just nice and grown-up (it is a university graduation, after all).
Anyway. These shoes were what I was most excited about. Aren’t they just the cutest? I may have resolved to stop buying bow headbands, but I didn’t say I’d stop buying anything else with bows on them! They’re the ‘Elwood’ flats by Tony Bianco. I originally wanted them in nude patent, but they only had them in my size in black. Either way, I had to have them. And they were the last pair. Score!
