watered down

Finally got around to playing with my watercolours. This one was my third attempt. The first two were just EPIC fails. Watercolours are not good for my inner perfectionist – there’s too much left to chance, what with colours bleeding etc. And when I try to “fix” it, I always go too far and end up ruining the whole damn thing! Anyway, I got the inspiration for the above drawing while flicking through one of my old Vogues. What got my attention was the outfit (pink with big shoulders! haha). It’s supposed to be Natasha Poly Backstage at Lanvin. I wasn’t too fussed on the likeness, because my main focus was on the clothes/watercolouring.

Thanks for all the positive feedback!

muchlove – haha, I kind of fluked the shade. I don't have pink, so was trying to mix red and white but it turned out all pastel and yuck… so it's just a really really watered down red/vermillion.

sieske – no problem, thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚
