hats off (or on)

This year my friend and I made a resolution to wear hats more often.

I recently ordered this Malene Berger bowler hat from asos.com. I may be a little late on the bowler hat trend, but hey, I live in Australia, we’re always a season or two behind.

I think the inspiration behind this whole hat wearing business was the idea that ‘back in the day’, an outfit wasn’t complete unless you had a hat to top it all off.

Case in point:

Ok, so this isn’t the best example and I’m only using this image from Revolutionary Road so I could bring up the fact that I saw it the other night (P.S. that movie was intense). I loved the scene where Leo is going to work and he’s walking along and everyone behind him is wearing hats and they’re all same same and yeah, I don’t really know where I’m going with this story. This is the best example I could find. Damn you google .

Anyway, back on topic. This hat wearing business is proving a little bit hard, mainly because I get really bad hat hair. Sigh.

i love that part in revolutionary road too! well…actually i havent seen it but i saw it in the trailers and i love it for no apparent reason. hats are so cute, but you have to wear them right, which i don't know how to, so i don't really wear them that much.

Oh you definitely have to see the movie. Very aesthetically pleasing. The storyline on the other hand… intense… really INTENSE.
